Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ has performed very well at the box office on its opening day. The film has managed to collect around 19 crores on its first day (Thursday).
The box office collection on the first day is very good because the film has not been released also in many parts of the country. The film’s release is completely banned in some states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Goa.
According to box office analysts, if the film was released all over the country without any protesting then there would be a collection of at least 25 crores on its opening day.
The opening day collection of Padmaavat is the biggest opening day for Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. Before Padmaavat, Shahid Kapoor’s highest opener was Shaandaar (13.10 cr) and Ranveer Singh’s highest opener was Ram Leela (15.73 cr).
The film Padmaavat has also become the highest opener of Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his Bollywood career.
Till now the film has collected a total of approx 24 crores with the collection of 5 crores in previews screenings on Wednesday. The film’s box office business will grow today as it’s a national holiday for Republic Day.
We expect the film to collect around 85 crores by the end of its opening weekend.
